Grace Alone

It’s easy to forget the weight of my sin. I want to trust completely in His grace but have a “by no means!” attitude toward continuing in sin. I find that I’m either prideful and confident in my “works” or that I’m desperately aware of my faults and am drowning in discouragement. I also often apologize quickly without considering the weight of my sin or the heart of my Father. I pray that my heart would be grieved by sin but that it would exalt in God’s grace, knowing that He gives it with full knowledge of that sin’s depth. The cross loses its wonder when we fail to realize the weight of our sin against a sinless Creator. The Gospel loses its wonder when we forget why we needed a Savior in the first place.
